Join us at the first Cape Occupational Safety & Health (COSH) Trade Expo and Conference!

On 13 and 14 March, 2019, the Cape Town International Convention Centre will play host to the inaugural COSH 2019 conference and exhibition.

The event came about due to the need for a Cape-based Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) event where all the sectors are included. The intention is to make it an annual event relevant to the commerce and industries of the Cape: sectors such as agriculture, fishing, mining, construction in building and roads, engineering, education and training, unions and government.

The conference event will feature internationally renowned experts, who will unpack the legal frameworks of OSH. The topics will include ISO 45001, the value of health and safety policy, safety audits vs. inspections, changing the workplace safety culture, and risk assessment approach.

The exhibition will allocate space for 40 exhibitors from within the industry to showcase their products, interact and network with delegates and visitors.

Conference chairman, Ron C. McKinnon, will be joined by co-chairman Corrie Loots. McKinnon is an internationally experienced and acknowledged safety professional with 42 years of experience in all aspects if the industry.

Loots hails from South Africa and is a well-respected International Risk Management professional with a 41-year demonstrable and proven global QHSES track record.

Law firm Webber Wentzel will be participating at the COSH 2019 Conference, addressing the legal framework of OHS. The Speakers from Webber Wentzel will be Kate Collier (who specialises in OHS law, with a particular focus on the mining and construction industries) and Claire Gaul (who is an employment law and employee benefits specialist).
