Cority will deliver the only IOSH-certified behavioural safety leadership programme worldwide through an exclusive partnership with Andrew Sharman and RMS

On February 10, it was announced that Cority – an environmental, health, safety and quality software provider – would be the exclusive vendor of the world’s only Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)-certified behavioural safety leadership programme, offered by RMS Switzerland.

“Behaviour-based safety isn’t about checklists, audits and more rules. It’s about creating a culture of care where leaders actively take an interest, workers look out for each other and everyone goes home without harm, every day,” highlights Sharman, president of IOSH, who – along with Darren Sutton, a performance psychologist – created the curriculum.

“Our online IOSH Certificate in Behavioural Safety Leadership is packed with ground-breaking ideas, concepts, tools and techniques to develop a robust safety culture,” Sharman elaborates.

“Completed at your own pace, in as little as four hours, it will drive a new standard for workplace safety. We’re delighted that our partnership provides Cority’s clients with exclusive premium access to the online programme – whatever their location,” he adds.

The interactive training programme applies principles of accident causation, human error and behavioural safety science. It provides operational leaders and health and safety and environment practitioners with the knowledge, skills and practical tools to develop exemplary leadership behaviours, drive positive change and build and sustain a robust safety culture across the enterprise.

“Improving our understanding of how errors occur, how people make decisions and approach risk, and what leaders can do to influence these factors is of utmost importance in building a strong, sustainable culture of safety,” says John Easton, vice president of product management at Cority.

“During my years as an industrial safety professional, I witnessed first-hand how strong behavioural safety practices can engage employees, instil management commitment to safety and build a culture of shared accountability,” Easton continues. “I’m very excited about this partnership and the value it brings to our clients to help them take their safety cultures to the next level.”
